I am sorry for the intrusion into your day. For those who do not know me, I am Anne O'Malley with Portland Habilitation Center, a qualified rehabilitation facility based in Portland.  We have trained and employed Oregonians with disabilities for over 54 years.  We currently employ over 800 adults with disabilities of varying sorts.  Many of our employees are from your referrals.

A couple of unions have filed legislation that would severely damage or completely destroy the state law that allows agencies such as ours to employ Oregonians with disabilities.  The bills are House Bill 3281 & House Bill 3271.  The former exempts all schools and colleges from working with people with disabilities through our organizations and the second completely eliminates our enabling statute.

There will be a hearing on this proposed legislation next week.

Please take a moment and write an email to the Oregon House Business, Labor and Consumer Affair committee telling them that you are opposed to the two bills.  The names and addresses below.
