Bend La-Pine School District to appeal Special Education ruling. / K.H. and Bend-LaPine School District. - The Bend La-Pine SD will be appealing this decision which allows the parents to be reimbursed for a private therapeutic school as the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) claiming the Bend La-Pine School’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) and placement was inadequate and ordering the Bend La-Pine SD to full fill their obligation under the Individual Disability Education Act (IDEA). Order also states this IEP was vague at best.  Suits like this have raged over the last four years and according to the Bend Bulletin, the Oregon Department of Education has only won one, but others are in appeal.  Will this be the last straw and set precedent for Oregon Parents?  Stay tuned.  Read the order
